Australian Flags was first published under the auspices of the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet in 1995 to provide information about the Australian National Flag, official Australian flags such as the Australian Aboriginal Flag and the Torres Strait Islander Flag, state and territory flags, and other flags flown in Australia.

The following images represent a selection of illustrations developed for the latest edition of the booklet. 

As one of Australia’s most important symbols, the protocols in the booklet provide direction for flying or using the flag, including as part of flag-raising ceremonies. A hard copy of Australian Flags can be obtained free of charge by contacting the electorate office of your local Senator or Member of the House of Representatives.
